Terms & Conditions for the IC3 Institute Resource Library

  1. The content of the IC3 Institute Resource Library is not legal advice and is solely general information in the area of career and college counseling to be reviewed and used at your own risk. IC3 Institute is a facilitator providing access to information. IC3 Institute may supplement, amend, or replace these Terms & Conditions from time to time and may provide notice to users by email. You should read these Terms & Conditions carefully and from time to time in order to keep apprised of changes.

 

  1. The resources of the IC3 Institute Resource Library are meant for use only by full-time school employees for the purpose of career and college counseling within schools and are offered at no cost. Unauthorized access, tampering, or other use is prohibited.

 

  1. All users are required to create a log-in to access the IC3 Institute Resource Library.

 

  1. An active and registered official school email ID will be required to create the log-in.

 

  1. Once log-in details are created, access instructions will be sent by email.

 

  1. None of resources available or any other content on our site may be altered, tampered with, deleted, copied, reproduced, displayed, disseminated, distributed or commercialized. Dissemination or display of the resources or any other content to any person through mailing lists, newsgroups, electronic bulletin boards, or otherwise is not permitted, except for use with school students as a part of the career guidance process within one’s school.

 

  1. The resources can be searched, browsed, downloaded and printed only by registered users and only for their use as is not otherwise restricted by these terms or applicable law.

 

  1. All content uploaded to the Resource Library are contributions by certain third-party professionals in the field, but such third party may not be affiliated with IC3 Institute. The content serves as reference material only. IC3 Institute may not have trained or certified the contributors and does not attest to any qualifications of contributors. Your access to and use of the content is solely at your own risk.

 

  1. Using the resources or any other content for commercial purposes or gain is not permitted. You may not upload, post, display, or share any advertisements or solicitations.

 

  1. Objectionable, obscene or unlawful content, and any content that is disparaging, critical of or that has any negative connotation to or towards any person, group, organization, or country of origin will not be tolerated and is prohibited. To the extent permitted by law, IC3 Institute may remove any content that is objectionable, obscene or unlawful, and any content that it believes has not been lawfully shared. To the extent permitted by law, IC3 Institute will not be liable for copyright infringement or other intellectual property claims by third parties.

 

  1. Accessing, sending, receiving, displaying, disclosing, storing, or executing any content (a) in violation of any copyright, right of privacy, publicity, patent, trademark, service mark, trade name, trade secret or other intellectual property or personal right, (b) in violation of any agreement, or (c) without prior authorization is a violation of law and is prohibited.

 

  1. Any breach of these terms, violation of law, or misuse of any resource or other content may be subject to legal action.

 

  1. Any information, question, comment, response, or other content that you post, send, submit or share on any community or bulletin board page or any Q&A or discussion section will be displayed for all site users to see and respond. By posting, sending, submitting or sharing, you are granting to IC3 Institute a royalty-free, perpetual (to the extent not otherwise limited by law), irrevocable, worldwide, non-exclusive license (with right to sublicense) to use all such content, and the intellectual property therein, on our website and in content generated, stored, displayed, and disseminated from or by the website.

Further Guidelines and Agreements for Contributors to the Resource Library

- Contributors must carefully read these Guidelines which contain, among other things, your agreement to license certain intellectual property rights to IC3 Institute and representations regarding your contributions as original works of authorship owned exclusively by you.

- Registered users will be permitted to download and print the resources. In case any content shared is not the original work of authorship of the contributor and has been compiled from a different source or sources, each contributor certifies that it has the lawful license or other authority and consent to post and share any and all such content and such content will include an express, accurate and complete notice and attribution of the same and bibliography of the author and owner.

- To the extent permitted by law, IC3 Institute may remove any content that it believes has not been lawfully shared and IC3 Institute will not be liable for copyright infringement or other intellectual property claims by third parties.

- To enhance the purposes of the Resource Library, share a resource that has proven helpful in your work (based or flavoured with your experience over an information-based document). Content may not reveal or use the confidential information of others.

- It is a good practice to use visual representation with text that is concise wherever possible.

- You may categorize the resource under the following topics-

      1. General education
      2. What to study
      3. Where to study
      4. How to make it happen

- Further tagging can be done for the convenience of the users/community-

      1. Counseling office-internal use (templates, policies, data points)
      2. Counseling office- external use for display or circulation of information, feedback forms
      3. Good read for a student/ useful resource for student
      4. Activity idea
      5. Blog for discussion with students

- The resource document can be a-

      1. Word doc
      2. Excel sheet
      3. PDF
      4. PPT
      5. Image

These will be subject to IC3 Institute’s vetting, approval and formatting as per legal requirements and institution branding guidelines, and will be managed by the backend team, followed by your final approval and consent prior to upload. You authorize changes to content occurring as a result of formatting or adherence to legal requirements.

- Acknowledgement to the resource person and institution will be provided. For this we will need your institution’s written approval to display its logo (high definition).

- Promotional content or solicitations are prohibited.

- Objectionable, obscene or unlawful content or any content that is disparaging, critical of or that has any negative connotation to or towards any person, group, organization, or county of origin will not be tolerated, is prohibited, and may be removed by IC3 Institute.

  • You shall not Contribute anywhere to or on our website, including, without limitation, the library page, any Content (defined below) that is not owned or licensed by you for such use (and if licensed, express and exact attribution must accompany the content). By Contributing any content, including, without limitation, all work, text, graphics, drawings, compilations, photos, designs, charts, writings, comments, responses, posts, materials, and submissions, whether created or contributed by you, either alone or with others (all of the foregoing, “Content”), you are granting to IC3 Institute a royalty-free, perpetual (to the extent not otherwise limited by law), irrevocable, worldwide, non-exclusive license (with right to sublicense) to use all Content and the intellectual property and goodwill therein.
